Based on each patients needs, Dr. Arin and Dr. Tanner utilize a variety of physiological therapeutics to maximize recovery and ease discomfort for traumatic and long-term issues.
Ultrasound
- Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to go deep into the tissue. These sound waves cause vibrations that can cause a deep heating locally although no sensation of heat will be felt. Other than this deep heating effect ultrasound has also been shown to cause increased tissue relaxation, local blood flow, and scar tissue break down.
Therapeutic Heat
- Heat, in the form of heat packs, is often used prior to the chiropractic adjustment. The therapeutic effects of the heat packs include decreasing the stiffness in joints, reducing pain, relieving muscle spasms and aiding in the post acute phase of healing.
Trigger Point Therapy
- A trigger point is a tight area within a muscle that can cause pain in other areas of the body. Trigger point therapy is specifically designed to alleviate this source of pain by the use of isolated pressure to this trigger point followed by release of this pressure. Patients often respond very well to this type of therapy.
